Dahlia Bud Shawl Pin
Dahlias are native to Mexico but despite hailing from a warmer climate, they have found their way into gardens around the world. According to flower lore, when given as a gift, the dahlia expresses dignity and elegance, and symbolizes commitment and a lasting bond. This is understandable when one considers the flower. Showy, dense blossoms rise gracefully above dark green foliage, late in the summer season and bloom well into the early autumn. Gardening enthusiasts lift the roots each fall so they can safely over-winter indoors and will be replanted again the following spring.
Presenting the Dahlia Bud Shawl Pin - antiqued 18 gauge copper wire has been knitted into a small "blossom" shape with hammered edges that reflect the light. It measures approximately 6 cm (2.25 inches) in diameter. This is a smaller version of the Dahlia Pin, more suitable for wearing with lighter woven or knitted scarves.
The stick pin is a sturdy 14 gauge copper with a sharpened point best used with wider woven or knitted fabrics. Please note, this style of pin is held in place through tension.
